I specialize in medical, rehabilitative, and therapeutic massage, as well as relaxation massage. I have used an intuitive and holistic approach involving body and mind.
My strategy begins with a thorough discussion of a what you would like to work with. Then, I use the discomfort or pain as a guide to find its source. I listen to my patients carefully and then look beyond the pain to create an individual approach before we start our session. Every treatment is customized specifically for each unique person and situation.
My goal is to facilitate and empower people to heal. Rather than rely on my therapies alone I am always willing to spend time giving you at-home techniques or referrals to speed your recovery or simply improve your own level of heath. The care and support you will receive goes beyond what most therapy centers offer. Be prepared to be cared for.
I grew up with gymnastics, dance, volley ball, soccer, track, mountain biking, and two BIG brothers. It’s safe to say that I earned more than my share of good, real life experience in the pain and recovery department.
Education and Training
I received my undergraduate degree in Education, but the moment I received my first massage I knew my time in school was not finished. Massage Therapy was the path for me as I had always wanted to make a direct impact in the lives of others. Going back to school, I had the honor of studying massage with renowned author, and muscular therapist Hall of Famer Sandy Fritz in both Michigan and Indiana. I have been a massage therapist since 1995.
After graduating from Indiana University I moved to England to live with my extended family. While traveling and working in Europe, I met people who were skilled in acupressure, Chinese medicine, and massage therapy. It changed my life and my perspective forever. I learned many of my first skills while there.
When someone comes to see me with an issue, I truly care. Even when I am on vacation I can hardly go the entire trip without helping someone, massage table or not! I am often told that I am more of a health coach and that I go far beyond what is expected of me.
